Released in 1982 on LP and cassette. Released on CD in 1986. The LP issue has no gatefold sleeve, but a printed innersleeve with lyrics and artwork.

The first batch of LP test pressings have a Cool Cat version with David Bowie. This is a finished song. Bowie didn't like it, so Queen had to pull back all pressings and change the song. UK and USA copies have been reported. An acetate pressing might exist as well.

The 1991 USA CD issue has one bonus track. Available with and without a longbox.

Re-issued on CD in Europe and Japan in 1993-1994.

Venezuela and Greece have a gatefolded LP issue. The Venezuelan issue has black titles instead of white ones.

Released on grey vinyl in Colombia.

Re-issued in Japan on CD in 2001 with improved sound quality.

Re-issued in Japan on CD in 2004 with a card sleeve (using the 2001 remasters). The package also includes a mini innersleeve like the original UK vinyl issue. Released in Europe on July 12 2004 (including obi's and Japanese lyrics sheet).
